Yesterday evening, as I descend into the gloom of the foggy valley.
Shot on my recent train ride from Vellore to Bangalore.
Like whisky swirling in a glass as I stare blankly at it trying to recall a song which I vaguely remember to have made me smile.
And talking of perplexity reminds me of this painting I made years back titled ‘Tomba’s Predicament’/’Lapse of Reason’.
An old painting I did in college titled “Insomniac scissors”.
I am suspecting I may be becoming insomniac lately. I mean really insomniac. I have not been able to sleep for the last few days. And it’s not like I am doing something or thinking too deep about something and can’t sleep. I just lay on my bed and wait for sleep. And even if I manage to fall asleep, I wake up after a couple of hours. In the daytime I’ll always be like shit I need a nap, but as soon as I lay down, I can’t sleep anymore.

The IFF PROJECT has garnered 260 votes so far. It has been almost seven months now since the project got online and I have to say I am glad to see the outcome of the poll. I was actually afraid it would be the other way round when I put it up. You never know these humans!

IFF (if and only if) deals with the potential effect of individual opinions/intensions on the bigger picture and vice versa. Here the famous ‘WAR IS OVER’ poster by John and Yoko is appropriated into a poll box. Their statement is turned into a bipolar open-ended situation. And the sense is recontextualised to our times by enacting a plebiscite between the two scenarios.
